‘Unforeseen’ exemplifies Sydney’s volatile coastal weather .
Sydney’s weather is distinctive as it has multiple facades where a sudden
change from stormy, cold (high intensity) to nice sunny weather (low intensity)
could occur. It is a site-specific sculpture as there are patterns on the
ground that I chose signify the harsh waves (high intensity) and the soft waves
(low intensity). The material that I will be using is a powder coated metal
with a gradient finish of orange to gold which symbolizes a scorching day(orange)
to a pleasant one(gold). The size of my sculpture will approximately be 3
metres.
It is a sleek structure, whereby inspired by the fluid geometry of water in motion. This building was built to be a cultural center and its structure breaks from the rigid and often monumental Soviet architecture. This building incorporated an element of modernism which hence, in my opinion is a great piece of architecture.
Sunrise provides one with a sense of calmness in spite the business of the city. It is usually one of the favorite time of the day as there is stillness in the atmosphere and provides a warmth. Undeniably, sunrise is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
